Does it need an app or an account?
No. You connect it to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi from a phone browser once. After that it fetches its own data — no app, no account, no subscription.
How long does the battery last?
Weeks per charge at the default 30-minute refresh (3000 mAh in the 7.5″ weather station and calendar, 4000 mAh in the 10.2″ weather station). Charge over USB-C, or leave it plugged in.
Where does the data come from?
Apple Weather (WeatherKit) for forecasts, NOAA for tides, Apple iCloud or Google for calendars. Attribution is shown on screen where required.
Can I hang it on the wall or fridge?
Yes — two strong neodymium magnets are built in, and the magnetic stand detaches for wall or fridge use.
Is e-ink readable at night?
E-ink is reflective, like paper: it needs some room light. It has no backlight, so it never glows at night and is easiest to read in bright rooms.
