Buying guide
Off-grid messaging in your pocket
ZippoNode is a fully assembled Meshtastic node — a RAK4631 LoRa radio with a 300 mAh battery and a universal 915/868 MHz antenna — built into a genuine Zippo® brushed-brass case. Pair it with the free Meshtastic app on your phone and send encrypted text messages to other Meshtastic devices without cell service or Wi-Fi.
Range depends on terrain: miles with a clear line of sight, less between buildings and hills. Every extra node nearby extends the mesh. No license and no fees are needed.
Before you buy
Good questions.
Do I need other devices?
Yes — Meshtastic is peer-to-peer, so you need at least one other Meshtastic device in range.
Do I need a license?
No. It uses license-free LoRa bands.
