Wi-Fi Weather Station (7.5″ and 10.2″)
About two minutes. The steps are the same for battery or USB power, with or without the CO₂ sensor.
- Power it on. Connect it to power and press the Reset button. Setup info appears on the screen.
- Join the “UkieLab Weather” Wi-Fi from your phone’s Wi-Fi settings.
- Set your location. Enter your ZIP code, choose °F or °C, and press Save.
- Connect to your home Wi-Fi. Pick your network (2.4 GHz), enter the password and press Connect. In about 10 seconds the forecast appears.
The forecast refreshes every 30 minutes. On the 7.5″, the time at the top is when it last updated, not a live clock.
Ocean Tide
About two minutes. Before you start, find your nearest station on NOAA’s tide predictions map.
- Power it on. Connect it to power, press Reset and wait about 20 seconds.
- Join the “OceanTide” Wi-Fi from your phone. A setup page opens automatically.
- Pick your tide station, time zone and update interval (hourly by default, 30 minutes to 24 hours), then press Save. If your station isn’t in the first list, pick any for now — the full list of NOAA stations loads once the display is online.
- Connect to your home Wi-Fi. Choose your network (2.4 GHz), enter the password and press Connect. About 20 seconds later your tides appear.
To switch stations later — for a boat or a second home — press Reset and run setup again.
E-Ink Calendar
About five minutes: first get a link to your calendar, then connect the display.
Step 1 — get your calendar link
- Apple iCloud: on your iPhone open Calendar → Calendars → tap the ⓘ next to the calendar you want → turn on Public Calendar → Share Link → Copy.
- Google Calendar: on a computer open Google Calendar → Settings → click your calendar → Integrate calendar → copy the Secret address in iCal format.
- The display shows one calendar. For a household, make a shared “Family” calendar that everyone adds to.
- Keep the link private. Both links work without a password, so anyone who has one can read the calendar. Don’t post it, share it or include it in screenshots or support emails. If a Google link is ever exposed, click Reset next to the secret address. Work and school Google accounts may have this option disabled.
Step 2 — connect the display
- Plug it in and press Reset.
- On your phone, join the “UkieLab Calendar” Wi-Fi.
- Choose your time zone, paste the calendar link from Step 1 and press Save.
- Pick your home Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz), enter the password and press Connect. In about 15 seconds your week fills in.
New events appear within about 30 minutes. The time at the top is the last update, not a clock.
Subscriber Counter for YouTube
- On your phone or laptop, join the “UkieLab-YouTube” Wi-Fi. A setup page opens automatically.
- Enter your channel handle, for example @YourChannel.
- Pick your home Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz), enter the password and press Connect. Within about 30 seconds your subscribers, views and latest video appear. It refreshes every 30 minutes.
Optional: connect YouTube Analytics with Google sign-in on the same setup page to add growth trends, watch time and estimated revenue.
AInk
- Scan the QR code on the screen, or join the “UkieLab-AInk” Wi-Fi. A setup page opens (if it doesn’t, go to http://192.168.4.1).
- Give the display a name — it becomes its network hostname — then choose your home Wi-Fi and enter the password.
- AInk restarts and shows its IP address and a QR code. Point your AI agent (on the same Wi-Fi) at that address, ask it to read the device’s API docs, then ask it to show something.
MoonGraph
- Charge or plug in MoonGraph and press Reset.
- Join its setup Wi-Fi from your phone.
- Set your location and time zone, then connect it to your 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi.
Moonrise, moonset and sky data are calculated for your location and update automatically.
Troubleshooting
- The screen flickers. The screen flashes and blinks a few times when it boots and whenever it updates. That black-and-white flicker is how e-ink redraws itself — normal, not a defect.
- It won’t join my Wi-Fi. UkieLab displays use 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Most routers offer it alongside 5 GHz; make sure it’s enabled, then press Reset and run setup again.
- The setup page didn’t open. Stay connected to the device’s Wi-Fi and open http://192.168.4.1 in your browser.
- It stopped updating. The last screen stays visible even without power or Wi-Fi. Check the battery (charge over USB-C), then press Reset.
- I moved or changed routers. Press Reset three times to clear the old Wi-Fi, then repeat setup with the new network.
- Start over with factory settings. Press the Reset button three times in a row. The device forgets its saved Wi-Fi and settings (location, tide station, calendar link or channel) and goes back to setup mode, so you can configure it from scratch.
